What do you do first upon waking?

The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is thank God I'm awake, alive, and healthy. I then brush my teeth and gargle with mouthwash.

What is your morning skincare routine?

My morning skincare routine starts with washing my face with a Cle de Peau face scrub followed by Biologique Recherche P50 toner lotion… I then use a serum created by my dermatologist, Dr. Rose Ingleton, and finally end with Crème de la Mer and a sunscreen.

What do you eat and drink in the morning, and and which Movita Organics supplements do you take?

I drink room temperature water first thing in the morning and then a cup of black coffee.  Every day I take the Movita Vitamin D3 supplement, and I also take the Multivitamin, especially in winter months. 

Do you have a morning exercise routine/if so what is it?

I work out six days a week for at least a half hour each day.  I love Peloton, so I take a cycling class twice a week, and also run on the treadmill twice a week.  I also do an hour of yoga twice a week… not Peloton yoga. 

What tips/lessons have you instilled in your children regarding health and well-being?

I have tried to instil in them the importance of exercise throughout their life course.  I was vegan for many years and now have added fish back into my diet. Both of my children are not big meat eaters, and they really limit dairy. I've also tried to get them to understand the importance of having good people with good energy around them… and to tune in to the instinct within, that shows them their purpose.

What are your favourite remedies if you wake up feeling under the weather/hungover/seasons changing?

My favorite remedy when I'm not feeling great is a homemade ginger, turmeric, lemon, and honey hot tea.

What are your 3 hero products (beauty or otherwise)?

Do you look at your phone first thing in the morning?

I admit… I do look at my phone first thing in the morning. I have a great friend who usually sends an inspirational quote which starts my day off right. I also like looking at my calendar to remind myself what's in store for the day ahead.

Where is your favourite place in the world to wake up?
Either in my bed in New York City or in my bed in Martha's Vineyard.
 
What are your top tips for great sleep?

My tip for the best night's sleep is to create a routine of going to bed and getting up where you can get a solid seven hours of sleep. Create an environment in the bedroom that is calming, organized, and clean. I personally love crisp, ironed sheets… and if I find I am having a hard time falling asleep, I do a mental body scan/meditation to relax my entire body.
